William K. Oates is an experienced labor and employment attorney with over 20 years of litigation experience. He is passionate about advocating for individuals who have faced workplace discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and wage violations. A seasoned litigator, Mr. Oates combines his knowledge of labor and employment law with strong negotiation skills to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Before joining Joseph & Norinsberg, LLC, Mr. Oates practiced at several plaintiff-side labor and employment law firms. In addition, Mr. Oates previously served as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department where he worked on high-profile Section 1983 cases, including matters related to Occupy Wall Street and the Central Park Jogger case.
Mr. Oates is admitted to the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Mr. Oates earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
