Bennitta L. Joseph is the Founding Partner of Joseph & Norinsberg LLC and one of New York City’s most accomplished employment trial attorneys. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, she has secured landmark verdicts and substantial settlements for workers at every level—from hourly employees denied overtime to senior executives whose careers were destroyed by discrimination, harassment, and retaliation—against opponents ranging from neighborhood businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, major financial institutions, global luxury conglomerates, and high-profile public figures.
Bennitta began her legal career as a prosecutor under Robert Morgenthau at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she built the trial instincts and courtroom presence that define her litigation approach today. After entering private practice, she developed deep expertise across the full spectrum of employment law and co-founded Joseph & Norinsberg LLC in 2014 with a singular mission: to give workers the same quality of legal representation that corporations take for granted.
Her recent high-profile work includes serving as lead counsel in Mayers v. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, a federal complaint alleging years of retaliation, harassment, and witness intimidation that generated national coverage from TMZ, Billboard, and Complex within hours of filing. She also served as lead counsel in Dershaw v. Stella McCartney America Inc., LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and Amandine Ohayon—a federal whistleblower retaliation and Equal Pay Act complaint filed in the Southern District of New York that drew immediate national and international attention from Bloomberg Law, Law360, Puck, AP News, and Reuters Paris.
Bennitta has been named to The National Black Lawyers’ Top 100 in New York for 2025 and 2026, selected to Super Lawyers since 2019, and recognized as one of the Best Litigation Attorneys in New York City by Expertise.com. She holds a J.D. from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law and practices from Joseph & Norinsberg’s offices in Midtown Manhattan and at the World Trade Center.
