Serving as Labor Counsel at Joseph & Norinsberg, LLC, Avraham (“Avi”) Scher is a dedicated labor and employment attorney committed to protecting workers’ rights and advocating for fair workplace practices. With a strong background in wage and hour litigation, employment discrimination, and workplace disputes, Avi combines his courtroom experience with an aggressive focus on client advocacy and strategic legal solutions. He is a relentless and compassionate advocate for employees who have been wronged in the workplace. Combining a deep commitment to justice and a sharp legal acumen, Avi fights tirelessly to ensure that workers receive the fair treatment, wages, and dignity they deserve. Avi has successfully tried both wage-and-hour and discrimination cases in New York State Courts, as well as in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Additionally, he has developed a highly successful collection and Judgment Enforcement practice, recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars for his clients, and ensuring that workers receive the wages and settlements they are owed.
Prior to joining the firm, Avi worked for both defense and plaintiffs’ rights law firms focusing primarily on wage and hour litigation and workplace discrimination cases. Avi has also worked for The Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, and as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Queens County, Civil Term, in Long Island City, New York. Before beginning his practice, Avi earned his Juris Doctorate from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Hofstra University, and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College in 2015.
